Here we go AGAIN!

Found this from one of my brainless former classmates on Facebook.

"I thought this was fake. This is what was sent to me, from Cyka UchuuJin, who lives in Kenya:
It is real, and there are several 'birthplace of obama' signs throughout Kenya. Many Kenyans (and Africans, for that matter) believe that people have several 'birthplaces', one's spiritual, tribal, or paternal (which is Barack's case is Kenya) homeground is just as real as the one where you physically entered the world. Many signs up near the Sudanese and Somali borders are in English and Arabic."

Fact of the matter is... and SNOPES.COM confirms this (http://www.snopes.com/politics/obama/photos/kenyasign.asp). This is again a FAKE. Why can't people let this one die? I can understand this has to, at some point, become so laughable that it becomes a self perpetuating joke.  At least I thought that, until I read all the responses to his post... and all of the responses were like... "See! We TOLD you... all you feckless LIBERALS!  GOD loves me for pointing out that our Muslim non-President was indeed born in Kenya.  See, this sign proves it!"

Interestingly, Snopes goes so far as to get the Arabic translated (that is if you can separate yourself from the fact that signage in Kenya is in Roman characters, not in Arabic... but if you can suspend that bit of reality for a second, the Arabic doesn't even translate into the things showing above:

"(Readers who understand the non-English have told us that although it is malformed - the letters are disconnected and the words are spelled backwards - the word under "Kenya" is actually the Arabic word for "Hawaii", the message at the bottom of the sign says "Not the birthplace of Barack Obama" and the script under "Welcome To" legend is the equivalent of "Paul is Dead"".  Obviously the people that created this were taking the piss out the ignorant Americans who are willing and eager to believe anything they see that might portray Barack Obama in a bad light, and deligitimize his Presidency.

Language aside, the Snopes article goes on to show you the original sign that the people used to fake this with.  Images below.  Original, then Fake.

Truth will win out, i suppose.... but this shit is driving me bat-shit CRAZY!
